A warm greeting!

I just wanted to do a little "welcome" post. Blogging is an entirely new experience so please bear with me.

First, I must thank my darling friends who encouraged me to blog so that I may post pictures and video as I travel. I must say that at once I was excited that you were all interested but this was immediately met with nervous thoughts because I have never done this before. I hope I do not disappoint!

Second, to my friends from Twitter and FanFiction, you all are so intelligent and amazing and lovely. I am constantly laughing and blushing around all of you and I am so delighted to know each of you. I sincerely hope that many of us will one day meet in person.

Dearest Brigette, I promise to take many photos with you in mind. I think you will be pleased with boutique photos from Via Tornabuoni. Any purchases will be itemized. (I know you like that.) You see, my ultimate goal here is to make your inspiration wall at work...

I'm not quite sure how to do the Picasa web album on the blog, but I intend on uploading photos on photobucket and then posting the link here. I'm learning as I go along- as you all know, I am not at all proficient with technology.

Em, I hope that you arrive via priority mail in the morning! Maybe Cosmo will pick you up in her pink Vespa and she will come too! JA, thank you for everything. I forgot to mention this, but the care packages were incredibly successful! You know me oh so well!

I am going to post pictures from my father's trip to Torino, Italy. He went to see the Shroud of Turin and returned today. The central palazzo looked incredible and I just want to share these photos with you all.

As for my own sojourn in Italy, primarily, I will be in Florence and will make excursions to neighboring Tuscan cities as well as a jaunt in Northern Italy to Venice and possibly Padova.

Why the dorky URL? I know of a travel resource titled "The Travel Book". The title could be unimaginative, but it's simple and to the point and I can appreciate that. Incidentally, my name sounds like "book" and the URL was available so there you go...

Love, B

You are going to have such a divine time and I'm so excited to follow your journey via The Travel Brooke (still La Petit Lapin in my mind). One day you'll go back and I'll join you...& we'll have a romantic Venetian gondola ride :) PS - remember...two meals
